Lets hear your first experience with Femme metal

The first Band and song I listened to all the way through was Królowa (Queen) by Closterkeller
and admittedly I wasnt expecting it would be as good as it was and it wasnt that long ago. Also was sent by a friend of mine that managed to convert me to Femme metal (Lady Draconian).
So lets hear your stories

Mine was Lacuna Coil's Veins Of Glass (from In A Reverie). I brought Kerrang in 2006 and there was poster of Cristina the band name intrigued me so I searched the songs and that one came up first I love Veins Of Glass as Cristina's voice is so sultry and wow! The contrast between her and Andrea is amazing too.

I think it was Lacuna Coil's Our Truth on a music show i saw on tv, i also remember my friend like EV when Fallen came and we listened to it bits, i liked the song that was also on Daredevil movie.
The first time i actually loved femme metal band was Katra on finnish eurovision song contest, through her music i found WT and through that Epica
Also i think heard Nightwish at dad's pace on some time but didn't care about it.

I remember first listening to Evanescence at that time I thought they were metal (don't kill me I was 10) I was on this site called Stardoll then I joined these clubs there called metal bands then I found Nightwish I listened then I loved I bought Tarja's My Winter Storm then DPP I kept viewing videos on YT then found WT Epica and LC and it just came from there really the rest is a blur...

After these I feel my story wasnt as creative or detailed But Im kind of in a blur at the moment Lol

I can't remember, but I remember it was near the beginning of year 9, so it would have been 2007 (I know, I'm a femme metal n00b ) and I know Tayla had more than a little to do with it.

I was 15 years when I heard Nightwish for the first time.
But I already listened Angra before this.
After this, I started to search for bands with female front. I knew After Forever (with Prison of Desire) and Within Temptation (with Enter) at the same time. After this, I didn´t stop anymore!

Oo-er.

Now, because my memory's being stupid I believe the first Femme Metal band I listened to was Nightwish or Evanescence. With NW it was Nemo which my friend put on for me to listene to. That was...5 years ago I think. Yes.
And then with Ev it was just a little while later. She had all these rock band for me to listen to and Ev was on of them.
Later on I was into WT from a friend and Epica which I found on my own

Huh..mine is such a long story

I think it was somewhere in the end of 2005 when I first heared EV's Bring Me To Life(I saw it on TV,and actually the BMTL video was filmed in Romania ).I didn't particulary like it at that time but Amy's voice had a huge impact to me at that time(nowadays I can't stand her and EV at all).Then,in 2006 I was watching an AMV on youtube using Nightwish's song Nemo.Didn't like this one eighter Maybe just the guitar solo because I've loved guitars since I was very little.
After about 1 year and a half,again through some AMV's I heared Within Temptation's Angels,and I was like "Gawd,she has the most beautiful voice EVER"that was simply my first TRUE Femme Metal Experience.I remember how obssesed I was with WT at that time(and I still am,lol.In the fits week I downloaded all of their songs,and a few months later,I bought the albums,and even some singles .Then the rest is history.Not very later I got deeplier into FM and started to like heavier bands such as Epica,Therion,Tristania Draconian,After Forever and many more.Very unoriginal story,I know

The first female rock singer i've heared was Janis Joplin in the 80's.
About the first femme metal, there were two bands a friend of mine wanted me to discover at the same time : Nathalie Rassoulis (septic flesh) and Anneke (The Gathering).

Septic Flesh are reallym good Also they're Greek!

don't know too many Greek bands but they worth a listening !
