OK so here is the situation, I have added up the runtime of the songs written for the new yet untitled album. The good thing is that we have plenty of material, things is right now it runs at 75 minutes which is very long for an album. if we were to release it on records it would be 3.... So... letting go of the hey its prog long albums are the norm, and the fact our previous albums run in the
48 to 55 range. (long too BTW) average album length is 42 minutes.

I decided to seek your advice via a poll.

Option A. keep it one long album, a common practice in Prog Metal, Dream Theater, as an example, usually have albums that run over an run over an hour and they have released a dbl album.

Option B. split the album releasing one at 55 minutes which includes 4 songs in the 10 minute range, 3 in the 4 to 6 minute range. Plus a radio edit of one of the longer songs.

Then release a second album say 6 months later that comprises of the 21 minute epic, plus 4 tunes in the 5 to 8 minute mark.

There is merit to both plans in my eyes, so let me know what you think.

Thanks.

I say option B, it seems better and it'll be easier on you as a band I feel.

Thanks for your response, between this poll and talking with others including S. Lee and Paul we have decided to do Option B.

So I will be finishing up the music for the first album in the coming days. then getting the instrumental mixes to S. Lee and Paul so they can start working their parts. We are hoping to start tracking vocals in late July after Sue has finished her exams for Masters Degree.

I will make a more detailed studio report shortly.
