Another tune named, and the lead vocals done for it... Flicker - a lot of use of Arabic, and chromatic lines in the vocals, killer solo from Paul...

I am working on the final mixes for Halogen Dawn this week. A bit more about the song, the lyrics tell the story of modern society where all too often morning, work and bills come all to early. there will be a total of five mixes for the song. Pt 1 single - this will be available soon for our stations, and fans it is the complete pt 1. Full Epic - both parts 1 and 2 this will be a bonus track on the album and be available to stations and fans soon. 11 minutes long. Super Single - this will be a edited/remixed version of Pt1 of the song that will be a bonus track, it will be shorter than PT 1 single, for those who don't like longer songs Album Version - this will be a edited version that incorporates pt 1 and pt 2 into a shorter version of the song but still will be in the 8 minute range. Instrumental Version - this will be a instrumental version of the album version of the song which will feature extra solos and melodies not found in the other versions. so there is the skinny on Halogen Dawn. Also besides Flicker, we also have titles for two other tunes, Warhearts the opening instrumental track, and Virulent which many have heard as the demo song we did for ABG plugins.

ok, in the never ending saga that is this album, The 8 minute version of Halogen simple ended up not being different enough, to warrant its inclusion... sometimes the awesome idea doesn't end up so awesome... So here is the track listing we have currently (of course subject to change again cause well hell it has changed about 10 times already) 1. Flicker 2. Deja Vu* 3. Halogen Dawn 4. Virulent** 5. Liger*** 6. Trio**** 7. Warhearts 8. Halogen Dawn 2.0 (Bonus Track) Run time is like 47 minutes or so... haha too many changes to actually grasp the actual time. So here is where we stand now... Halogen Dawn and Flicker are done and have what I suspect will be their final mixes. In a move not done on one of our albums we are not opening with an instrumental Flicker sets of the album, it is jsut too damn catchy to not go first. * Deja Vu is a working title but might be the final, the song deals with the circular nature of modern adult working life, each day same as the last by and large. get up got to work, come home watch the news for the latest atrocity that beholds us as humans, go to bed to start it all over... we tracked scratch vocals and and finished the lyrics last night. ** Virulent - formerly the BIG DIG demo, now named and done except for editing of the Vocals Sue tracked last night, Paul's solo and Final mixing. *** Liger still alot to do on this tune but we should start on lyrics for it in september. **** Trio the ballad, usually we have the album ending ballad finished before now... well things are definitely different this go around. You will also note that it isn't the final track on the album, another twist in the spin that is this album. Warhearts is finished except for Paul's Solos, and a final mix is pretty much locked in . and in a odd move by us we covered our own tune, Haha, but that is how you have to approach the first listen to Halogen Dawn 2.0 as it is drastically different than the original, for one it is stripped back to just over 4 minutes, yet tells the whole story of the lyrics. Where the original showed a different side of FT with a more retro feel, less odd synths. 2.0 however, uses Piano and the primary instrument in the verses, and all gtrs, bass drums, and synths have been redone with a push towards making the song more modern more in line with the FT standard. Also more of a single, fresh baked for airplay. As to which version we like better, well We love them both, two sides of a very kickass coin. We are still on schedule for a late November release, as we hope to have tracking finished by Halloween. So just in time for the Holiday season of gift giving... So there you have it, as things stand today...

figure it is time for another update... sorry I haven't been around alot, I try to check daily, but new job has me pretty busy, then once home havign to catchup onmy skills after having to take 6 weeks off from playing, but the good news is the carpal tunnel swelling around the nerves is down... not healed but better. We are moving along the best we can on the album and I think we will be able to still make the timeline set. This weekend we will be tracking vocals for one of the three tunes left, not sure which yet depends on which one grabs Sue lyrically I suppose. Hopefully Paul will be able to finish his solos in the coming weeks, his work life has beeen very hectic, and also has had to deal with some family issues as well as of late. the track list his been defined, although the three tunes that still need vocals are still tentitive titles. album title The Chaise 1. Flicker 2. Riffmania (tentative) 3. Virulent 4. Halogen Dawn 2.0 5. Liger (tentative) 6. Cycles 7. Tapestry 8. Halogen Dawn Epic Mix (Bonus Track) with Ena's permission I will post up the album cover she has graciously done for us. Also Eetu is working on a video for "Flicker." We moved the 2.0 version Halogen to the main tracks as it fits better with the other all feel of the album as the original version is more of a retro feel to the rest of the tracks. We got the majority of the vocals for "Tapestry"done this weekend WooT Woot!!! We were also able to get the lyrical concept and some starting lines for RIffmania, so all in all a very productive weekend.
